Blake Hering is a Principal in Gantry’s Portland office. Blake has originated several billion dollars in loans over his 30+ year career. By focusing on relationship development, Blake believes that Gantry Portland has the best stable of life insurance company lenders in the market and pursues the top tier of borrowers to match. Blake began his commercial real estate career with Coldwell Banker (now CBRE) in 1990. In 1996 Blake helped open the 10th office in the country for Holiday Fenoglio (subsequently HFF, now JLL) in Portland. In 1999, Blake joined his dad and his uncle at Norris Beggs & Simpson, Portland’s largest, full-service commercial real estate company at the time. There, Blake became a consistent producer in the financial services group and ultimately, a Principal in the company in 2006. Gantry acquired NBS Financial Services in 2020.
Blake has numerous industry affiliations: MBA, NAIOP, CRE Finance Council, among them, has received industry recognition for production from numerous lenders, and was honored to have served on advisory panels for the loan origination teams at State Farm Life and Nationwide Life. Blake believes strongly in service and giving back to his community. Current board positions include the Westside Economic Alliance, Providence Heart Leadership Cabinet, Oregon Sports Hall of Fame, and the Portland State University Center for Real Estate.
Hobbies include mountain biking, tennis, soccer, hiking, horseback riding, and skiing. Blake is the proud father of one son and one daughter, now in their 20’s.
